Four Pillars

Our goal within Home Church is for The Four Pillars of the church found in Acts to be present at all gatherings: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42

Apostles’ Doctrine

A proper understanding of the elementary teachings of Jesus is important to guard against deception. As the light of Christ shines through sound biblical teaching, foundational cracks in our faith are exposed and mended. Within the light of House Church, true spiritual growth happens as we come together in the truth of God’s Word.

Fellowship

As Christians, we are living stones being built together as a dwelling place for the Spirit of God. The shaping that’s required to be rightly fitted together in unity best happens within the fellowship of close interdependent relationships where every joint has the opportunity to supply. We enjoy this true discipleship as we link arms in one accord through biblical, relational-style ministry.

Breaking Of Bread

Enjoying a meal together in the name of Jesus forms bonds and deepens relationships. This time of communion, done in remembrance of Him, is an essential and enjoyed part of our weekly gatherings of simple church within the homes. “Breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Acts 2:46

Prayers

The pinnacle of our worship service is prayer. Scripture tells us when two agree concerning anything they ask in prayer, it will be done. Perhaps one of the greatest forfeitures we make is the failure to stand with expectancy on this great promise. It was the believers’ united prayers of faith in the Upper Room that brought about the birth of the New Testament church. We too get to experience this same power as we come together in one accord with the brethren and pray His will.
