Benefits of simple church
The benefits of Home Church feel immeasurable, but here is a list of 10 benefits we have found within the biblical framework of church:
1. It’s the Biblical Model
From house to house is the example given in the New Testament Church. Traditions of men have cheated us from experiencing the beauty of biblical church. Once we return to the original framework, the church is released to operate in all of her gifts and power.
2. Uninhibited Flow of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is allowed to freely flow when it is unhindered by the traditions of men. By breaking away from these traditions, the power, authority, and leadership is given back to the Holy Spirit and the church flourishes as it did after Pentecost.
3. Deepened Relationships
Close, interdependent relationships among the Body of Christ is truly a gift to experience. The strong relationships that develop within Home Church begin to feel like true family. This unity continues throughout the week as you become knitted together in love, sharing prayer requests and bearing each other’s burdens and joys. Doing life together with other believers is vital for our spiritual health.
4. True Discipleship
With deeper fellowship comes more opportunity for discipleship. Through the abundance of light within House Church, there’s the gift of accountability and transparency that brings about rapid maturity.
5. Spiritual Growth
Instead of the congregation sitting quietly as one man delivers the message, every member within House Church is able to participate and bring a testimony or revelation. When you are no longer just a spectator, but an active contributor to the worship service, there is true growth.
6. Power In Unity
When two or more gather in the Lord’s name, God is within our midst. There is a power as the Body of Christ gathers in one accord for the purpose of worship, sharing revelation, and growing together.
7. Every Joint Supplies
Within Home Church, every member is given the opportunity to build the Body as they discover their unique function and spiritual gifting. There’s a fullness to the Body when each person is allowed to contribute. As living stones, we become fitly framed together as a dwelling place for the Lord.
8. Family-Oriented Worship
There’s no division of the family within Home Church. Every member, regardless of age, is free to testify, participate, and share what the Lord is showing them. Children can witness adults speaking back and forth about God, and this encourages them in their faith. In this way, we are passing down our faith to the next generation in the most organic way.
9. Home Setting
The informal and relaxed setting of Home Church is welcoming. The natural setting of a home causes guards to come down and hearts to open, allowing interactions and relationships to be more authentic.
10. Wise Use of Funds
Instead of money being poured into building expenses, programs, and salaries, funds within Home Church can go directly to Kingdom work. The Church is released from the burden of overhead expense and freed to meet needs and fulfill The Great Commission.
